Grays Harbor Community Hospital (GHCH), Aberdeen, WA
2010 to present

GHCH is a level III Trauma Center, two campuses with a combined 140 beds, $125M+ in net revenue, over 300 medical staff, 750 employees, a multi-specialty medical group, and eight clinics.

Key Contributions

  • Developed the framework for a Strategic Affiliation with a regional healthcare system that improved the referral network, coordination of care, and service line expansion.

  • Implemented a comprehensive quality improvement initiative which increased organizational scores by 15% and resulted in the hospital earning the highest quality improvement award in Washington State and being recognized by Consumer Reports in the top 10% of Washington hospitals for quality of care.

  • Created a joint venture to provide intravascular radiology services for the community.

  • Responsible for the strategic planning and operational activities and financial growth of a rural hospital.

  • Secured financing to build a new, HUD financed, state-of-the-art medical center in the public hospital district (first ever in Washington State).

St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute is a 102-bed hospital with over 500 FTEs and serves patients throughout the Inland Northwest including patients in central and eastern Washington, northern Idaho and western Montana. SLRI specializes in comprehensive inpatient and outpatient therapy sessions for children and adults and provide rehabilitation treatment for stroke, spinal cord injuries, orthopedic issues and brain injuries.

Key Contributions

  • Responsible for financial turn around and creation of a substantial reserve fund.

  • Provided direction in the utilization of resources to maximize revenues while significantly raising the bar on quality of care.

  • Increased revenues by 15% through affiliation with local health systems to provide inpatient and outpatient therapy services.
